Riese & Müller is the first manufacturer in the bicycle industry to use reusable packaging as standard for shipping e-bikes.
After successful test runs with over 90 dealers, series production is now starting with more than 1000 dealers in Europe. The BikeBox of the Circular Logistics GmbH, Pöcking, The new product is made from 60 per cent recycled polypropylene (PP) and can be reused up to 30 times.

Advantages of the BikeBox
The BikeBox offers numerous advantages over conventional packaging:
- Reduction of over 70 % CO2 and up to 210 kg cardboard packaging per box over the entire life cycle
- More resistant as a cardboard box, improves the protection of bicycles against transport damage
- Weather resistant, so that it can also be stored outdoors
- Safe handling, as no cutting or shredding of cardboard is necessary
After delivery, the Foldable BikeBox returned by the dealer, checked and used again. According to Riese & Müller, at the end of the usage phase, the box is Fully recyclable.
The BikeBox is now free of charge as standard shipping for daily orders from Riese & Müller dealers. Shipping in conventional cardboard packaging is still possible, but only for an additional charge, the company concludes.
