Ringmetall acquires the Turkish liner manufacturer Makplast and expands its presence in the strategically important market between Europe and Asia. The acquisition is part of the company's long-term growth strategy.

The international packaging industry is facing the challenge of asserting itself in a dynamic market environment and expanding globally at the same time. Against this backdrop, Ringmetall SE, a specialist supplier of industrial packaging, has taken a strategic step to strengthen its market position. The company has acquired the Turkish liner manufacturer Makplast Makine Plastik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.. This acquisition will enable Ringmetall to expand its presence in Turkey, a market that is considered a bridge between Europe and Asia.

Strategic expansion in Turkey

The acquisition of Makplast is part of a share deal, whereby the parties have agreed not to disclose the exact purchase price. Makplast is known for the production of liners for industrial packaging solutions, in particular for aseptic and non-aseptic liquid packaging in the food and beverage sector. With this purchase, Ringmetall is specifically strengthening its liner division and securing a stronger market position in the region, according to the statement.

„With Makplast, we are gaining an excellently positioned liner specialist and at the same time strengthening our market position in Turkey, a strategically important growth market for us at the interface between Europe and Asia.“

Integration and financing

This acquisition will be financed via free, agreed credit lines, which underlines Ringmetall's financial stability and strategic planning. Makplast, which generates sales in the mid-single-digit million range with around 45 employees, will be fully integrated into the Ringmetall Group in the coming months.

Long-term growth strategy

The acquisition of Makplast is part of Ringmetall's long-term growth strategy, which focuses on the targeted expansion of existing business areas through selective company acquisitions. This strategy, known as „buy and build“, aims to promote corporate growth through strategic acquisitions and at the same time increase market share in key regions.
