With the intelligent packing technology from RS-Systems, logistics service providers can now stack roll container components more efficiently and save up to 70 per cent storage space.

Less storage space required, lower costs: RS-Systems GmbH sets new standards with its newly developed packing technology for roll containers new standards for the efficient storage and safe transport of empty roll containers. With the „Roll-Space“ system, retail groups save up to 70 per cent of storage space and thus significantly reduce their costs. The packing technology is based on a specially designed container base with integrated holes, which enable stable positioning of side rails in the container.

With the new technology up to five containers can be stacked inside each other instead of the previous two. By storing the container bases on a separate roll container, up to ten roll containers can be stacked in one, meaning that only one storage space is required instead of the previous five. Roll-Space therefore guarantees greater flexibility, especially in months when more storage capacity is required.

Roll-Space is also impressive in terms of user-friendliness: In combination with the Roll-Safe transport lock, the container is additionally sealed, which enables stable and safe storage. The integrated holes in the base make handling easier and ensure clear, user-friendly order picking. The space-saving solution also reduces the number of empties on the lorry, prevents bottlenecks on tours and enables efficient use of transport capacity.

„The stacking of roll containers plays a central role for our customers - not only in the warehouse, but also in the lorry. Returning empty containers is always a challenge, which we are now meeting with Roll Space.“

The owner of RS-Systems also runs a haulage company and developed the resource-saving Roll-Safe transport securing system a decade ago. This makes the No need to wrap roll containers with stretch film.

Intelligent interaction ensures optimum hold

The new packing technology is extremely simple and can be easily integrated into everyday warehouse operations. Four side rails can be easily inserted vertically in the centre of the container. The specially designed perforations in the container floor ensure that the grilles are securely fixed and remain reliably upright. Thanks to this stable base, four additional side rails can be inserted upside down between the already upright rails. The intelligent interplay ensures that even the inverted grilles are optimally held in place and do not tip to the side.

There is still enough space to the left and right of the grids in the centre of the container to stack two container shelves on top of each other and then close them reliably with the Roll Safe transport lock. This creates a Particularly stable and secure packaging of roll containers. The system provides companies in the logistics and industrial sectors with significantly more efficient utilisation of their storage and transport capacities, while also ensuring optimum safety during handling.

Solution for seasonal peaks

Roll-Space is also the perfect solution for seasonal business with fluctuating demand, for example for supermarkets in tourist regions. In the off-season, the system allows up to 75 per cent of the roller containers that are not needed to be stored in a space-saving manner. To do this, they are efficiently dismantled and stacked in conjunction with Roll-Safe. The storage security system reliably protects the grids and the container from damage caused by improper handling and ensures safe and sustainable storage. In this case, the container shelves are stacked on a separate container, whereby up to 20 shelves can easily be placed on top of each other. „This means that we only need one storage space for ten roller containers and one for the container shelves instead of the previous five,“ explains Köllner.
