Rossmann launches the first German Pinot Blanc in an innovative cardboard bottle on a large scale. The wine is available in over 2,200 shops.

The cardboard bottle consists of an inner plastic tube and an outer paper sleeve made from 94 per cent recycled cardboard. With a weight of approx. 82 grams the bottle weighs on average five times less than a traditional glass bottle between 350 and 800 grams. According to Rossmann, the material and the lighter weight can save 84 per cent of CO2 emissions compared to glass bottles.

The practical wrapping also scores with its break resistance. After use, the empty bottle can be simply dispose of in the paper and yellow bins, This means that the materials are returned to the material cycle.

„I am delighted that the collaboration with our long-standing partner, Winzergenossenschaft Achkarren, has been successful and that we can now offer our customers this innovative and tasty wine throughout Germany,“ explains Solveig Grohne, Category Manager Wine at Rossmann. The „Fair & Green“ certified winegrowers' cooperative Achkarren is located in Baden on the Kaiserstuhl.
