On the occasion of the company's 60th anniversary Rovema, packaging machine manufacturer from Fernwald, Germany, organised an open day in August for a „A look behind the scenes“ to the company's own production halls.
The modern production and assembly halls were open for a tour, and six complex packaging machines were presented live. For example, visitors were able to marvel at the modern EW 463 end-of-line packaging machine destined for the Netherlands, which packs up to 120 rice packs per minute in a transport package. Or the flow-wrapping machine manufactured for an American customer for packing loose tea and the intermittently operating flow-wrapping machine that will pack spices at up to 60 bags per minute in Dubai.

ROVEMA was 1957 as a family business and quickly developed from a small business into a medium-sized company thanks to many innovations in packaging technology. In 1981, the Dr Walter Baur family took over the majority shareholding. Through strict reorganisation in conjunction with investments in further and new developments in packaging technology and a strict focus on the market and customer proximity, the company developed into a technology leader in its sector.
After a successful Reorganisation in 2010 According to ROVEMA, things are continuing to look up: In 2016, turnover totalled 92 million euros, and the target for this year is 100 million euros. This is achieved with around 650 ROVEMA employees worldwide. The company regularly invests to ensure its continued success. The roof of a production hall with an area of 5,000 m² is currently being insulated and renovated using the latest technology. In 2017 alone, ROVEMA will invest EUR 1.5 million in refurbishments and renovations.
