Sanner starts US production in Greensboro

Sanner has officially started production in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA. The new site specialises in the production of critical injection moulded components for medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging, as well as dry-melt solutions.

Sanner's new production facility in Greensboro has started production on schedule. With a total area of 5,600 square metres, the plant offers capacity for both the CDMO and packaging sectors.

Growth potential for CDMO offerings

The GMP-compliant plant with automated environmental monitoring has class 7 and 8 cleanrooms as well as extensive laboratory capacities for testing and measurement technology. With an additional 1,800 square metres of easily expandable production space, Sanner says it can respond quickly to growing customer requirements. „We are now in a position to offer our customers in the pharmaceutical and medtech sectors the complete CDMO service, including injection moulding, from a single source in the USA,“ says Ted Mosler.

Desiccant packaging „made in the USA“

The new filling area with automated high-speed filling lines for desiccants will enable Sanner to offer customers from the North American pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry packaging solutions „made in the USA“. The first products manufactured in Greensboro include tubes for effervescent tablets, the high-quality desiccant closure DASG-1 and the AdCap desiccant capsule, with more products to follow, according to reports.

On course for growth

Sanner recently acquired Durham-based CDMO Gilero, which specialises in the design, development, manufacture, assembly and packaging of medical products. In 2023, Sanner also opened its second production facility in Kunshan, China, and this year started production at its new state-of-the-art manufacturing site and headquarters in Bensheim, Germany.
