Sanofi joins Blister Pack Collective

Sanofi's Consumer Healthcare Division (CHC) has joined the Blister Pack Collective of PA Consulting and PulPac and uses Dry Molded Fibre technology to produce tablet blister packs.

PA Consulting and PulPac, the Swedish packaging solutions company behind Dry Molded Fiber, announce that Sanofi's Consumer Healthcare Division (CHC) has joined the Blister Pack Collective. Sanofi CHC had already announced its entry into PA and PulPac's Bottle Collective in April 2023.

The Blister Pack Collective brings together pharmaceutical, consumer health and FMCG companies with the aim of accelerating the use of more sustainable blister packs that are free from plastics such as PVC. PA and PulPac have launched the Collective and developed the technology for the Production of dry moulded fibre tablet blister packaging developed.

As a founding member of the Blister Pack and Bottle Collectives, Sanofi CHC is investing in the development of dry moulded fibre packaging. Blister packs and bottles made from dry moulded fibre are designed to, that they can be recycled like paper packaging. They are designed to reduce or eliminate Sanofi CHC's single-use plastic packaging and significantly improve the environmental profile of Sanofi CHC's future product portfolio.

Dry moulded fibre technology minimises CO2 emissions and requires minimal water consumption. It enables the production of versatile tablet packaging, which are comparable to PVC packs in terms of design and number of tablets.
