Sublimation papers are becoming increasingly important for digital transfer printing. Sappi is therefore investing in expanding its production capacity for the papers and will also be presenting its portfolio of coated and uncoated sublimation papers at the FESPA Global Print Expo in Berlin. 

Sappis The theme for this year's FESPA Global Print Expo is „Sow. Thrive. Harvest.“ The company recently announced that it will be investing a low double-digit million euro sum over the next two years in the expansion of its „Centre of Excellence“ for speciality papers at its Carmignano site in northern Italy. The investment is aimed at improving the Increase production capacity to support the growth of the sublimation paper business. In addition, the company's service will be further improved and delivery times shortened.

Sublimation papers are used in the fashion, home textiles, sportswear and sports equipment industries, as well as in the soft signage and hard substrate industries. This year all papers exhibited with new designs and materials, to give visitors the best possible overview and insight into the numerous application possibilities, which are adapted to different machine types and speeds. In addition to Basejet, an uncoated sublimation paper, the complete product family of the Transjet brand will also be presented.

Strong presence at the point of sale

For applications such as advertising displays, high-quality packaging or e-commerce cartons, the company offers a Portfolio of coated and uncoated liner qualities. These offer brilliant colour reproduction, contrast and improved readability. The 100 per cent liner made from virgin fibres of the Fusion series are today's premium solutions for displays, consumer packaging, shelf-ready packaging and trays. With their homogeneous surface and high degree of whiteness, the virgin fibre liners meet all the requirements for a strong brand impact at the POS.

Display

Silicone-based papers complement the portfolio at this year's FESPA. They were developed as backing papers for self-adhesive applications such as automotive films, outdoor advertising and office materials and offer siliconisation properties as well as simple and efficient processing.
