For Sappi, interpack 2017 is the ideal forum for exchanging ideas with international trade visitors. Branded goods manufacturers, packaging companies, printers and print finishers, designers and advertising agencies will find out how they can efficiently implement packaging trends and fulfil the increasing demands on the packaging of the future.
The focus of the trade fair presentation will be on packaging papers with integrated Barrier and Heat-sealing properties. The company will also be presenting further innovations and packaging solutions for containerboard, rigid packaging, label papers and flexible packaging.
Sappi also offers an extensive portfolio of coated and uncoated papers for food and non-food applications in the flexible packaging sector. This includes speciality papers for sachets, bags and wrappers. The papers are characterised by their excellent processing properties.
Functional Papers
Four years ago, Sappi was the first manufacturer in the world to present an innovative speciality paper with a direct mineral oil barrier integrated in the paper and heat-sealing properties. Since then, the product family Sappi Guard with additional barrier papers. Sappi will now present further innovations in multifunctional barrier papers for both food and non-food packaging. These include the first results of the recently announced co-operation agreement between Sappi and Felix Schoeller. With their future products, both companies want to present a sustainable and high-quality alternative to current packaging solutions. In doing so, they are hitting the nerve of the times.
The Sappi Guard product family has also been awarded the international WorldStar Packaging Award 2017 in the food category of the World Packaging Organisation. Last year, Sappi's multifunctional barrier papers received the German Packaging Award 2016 in the „New Materials“ category.
