Sappi shows sustainable packaging solutions analogue and digital

At this year's FachPack, Sappi will be presenting sustainable packaging solutions, including high-barrier papers with integrated heat-sealability, new options for corrugated board applications, a label paper and new papers in the flexible packaging sector.

At this year's FachPack, Sappi will be presenting sustainable packaging solutions, including high-barrier papers with integrated heat-sealability, new options for corrugated board applications, a label paper and new papers in the flexible packaging sector.

In the Functional Paper Packaging segment, Sappi's Guard and AvantGuard product families are barrier papers that eliminate the need for additional special coatings or laminations and offer a high level of protection. can be recycled in the waste paper stream. With their integrated barriers, they ensure that the product quality of food and other products is maintained. The new generation of these high-barrier papers is celebrating its premiere at FachPack: Sappi AvantGuard S with integrated heat-sealing capability.

Innovation in corrugated board packaging

The new Fusion Nature Plus will have a special place on the Sappi stand at FachPack. The uncoated and recyclable virgin fibre liner is characterised by good printability in flexo, digital and offset printing. This is due to its high degree of whiteness, brilliant colour reproduction and consistently high quality. These properties make the product the perfect choice for corrugated or solid board packaging where a bright white appearance is required for topliners, inner liners and fluting. It is the ideal complement to the already established Fusion Topliner. The newly developed fresh fibre liner is also suitable for Ideal for the production of paper carrier bags.

Labelling made easy

Also presented Sappi its portfolio of label paper solutions. This was recently honoured with the non-wet-strength wet-glue label paper Parade Label Pro expanded. The paper is an interesting option for customers in the beverage, food and consumer goods industries as it is suitable for numerous applications, such as labelling disposable bottles, food and non-food containers and wrappers for various products. The glossy, double-coated quality on one side with a very smooth surface and a high degree of whiteness enables good printing and finishing results.

Display

Visitors to the stand will also be able to see a wide range of kraft papers for flexible packaging. The new products include the translucent paper Crystalcon, which can be used for various applications. This paper is both recyclable and compostable. Sappi is also presenting other new packaging papers for the food industry. The Fibrecar MT and Delicon papers have been specially developed for the food industry.

Sappi runs on two tracks: analogue meets digital

In view of the special circumstances resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic Sappi to the concerns of potential visitors. As the situation can change quickly and travel restrictions are possible at any time, the company has decided to do so for FachPack 2021, to develop a hybrid event format. Visitors will be able to participate virtually without travelling to Nuremberg.

Many people are already familiar with the „Blue Couch Series“ digital interview format: The blue couch will also be at the trade fair stand this year. Sappi employees will be on site and for the participants at home behind the scenes of the Group and into the future of the paper industry, z. with new products, innovations and sustainability topics, for example. There will also be live reports from the trade fair on the paper manufacturer's social media channels.
