Saueressig in Vreden has opened a new innovation centre. The facility called „c.Inktec“ will be used both internally and in cooperation with customers for product development in the areas of packaging and surfaces.
The Saueressig GmbH & Co. KG belongs to the Matthews-Group and supports companies, among other things, in the Packaging design, printing and data management. With the new Innovation centre the company, which was founded in 1953, is now looking to expand its offering in this area. It offers a wide range of new opportunities, explains Stephan Lammers, Global Director Packaging: „On the one hand, we serve a strong technical focus in the areas of packaging and surfaces with top-class laboratory equipment, and on the other hand, an innovative colour laboratory is also integrated.“
Even printed electronics is possible
The technical equipment can be used in the „c.Inktec“ numerous process and quality tests can be carried out. Printed electronics and microstructures can also be tested. There are various Laboratory printing machines as well as systems for embossing and surface finishing. Patterns can be cut and punched, and it is also possible to create mock-ups.
Integrated into the new facility is also a Colour laboratory. This allows new colour formulations to be developed. The use of universal machines means that colours for the Gravure, flexo and offset printing can be created and tested.
