K. A. Schmersal Holding GmbH & Co. KG, acquired omnicon engineering GmbH on 24 October 2019. omnicon is a service provider that advises both medium-sized and DAX-listed companies on safety-related issues and supports them in ensuring the conformity of machinery with EU machinery safety regulations.
The Engineering office with around 15 employees is recognised as the Member of the Schmersal Group continued under the previous name. The Founder Friedhelm Nowak will remain with the company as Managing Director.

tec.nicum was established on 1 January 2016 as Services division of the Schmersal Group and has been recording double to triple-digit growth rates every year since then. The tec.nicum consists of a worldwide network of certified Functional Safety Engineers who advise machine manufacturers and operators on all matters relating to machine and occupational safety on a manufacturer-independent basis.
In addition, the tec.nicum experts plan and realise complex safety solutions around the globe in close cooperation with clients. With the founding of tec.nicum, the Schmersal Group has further expanded its position as a leading international system and solution provider for machine safety.
