The Schmersal Group will be presenting its wide range of safety components and systems for industrial robots at Automatica 2018, ranging from safety light grids and safety curtains to solenoid interlocks, relay modules and safety controllers.

Particularly points Schmersal to the highly coded RFID tumblers „AZM20“, which are operated with the „BDF200-SD“ control panel. This enables customised, ready-to-connect safety solutions for the safety gates on Robot workstations mount. An SD interface for safe diagnostics is integrated into the control panel. This means that non-safe diagnostic signals from the connected control and signalling devices can also be transmitted to a control unit.

As modular Safety control Schmersal recommends the „PSC1“ model at the Munich trade fair. It analyses safe signals from the automation system, but also forwards non-safe signals to the system environment via a standard bus system. There is also a universal Communication interface, which makes it possible to use software to Fieldbus protocols to select and set.

Schmersal sees robots as the backbone for the Industry 4.0 and therefore emphasises that its own products are an important element in protecting people and increasing plant productivity.
