In this way, the company wants to ensure that the trainees have the right skills for the future.gain practical experience at an early stage and optimally prepared for their professional future.
To date, the company has trained a total of ten apprentices in the fields of industrial mechanics and mechatronics. The number of trainees in media technology and machine and plant management is six. These numbers will continue to rise in the coming training year. From September, around 30 new trainees at Schreiner Group, including numerous commercial apprentices. A large proportion of the technical apprentices begin their training in the expanded training centre, which includes workshops, training and meeting rooms as well as offices.
„Our trainees used to start directly in production. However, as they still lacked the basic knowledge, they were not able to work at all at the beginning. This repeatedly led to conflicts of interest in the tightly scheduled production. Today, they are at the machine themselves right from the start and can also learn from their own mistakes.“
Michael Limmer
This learning concept is based on extensive Investments in modern equipment, that Schreiner Group purchased specifically for the training centre. In 2022, a new printing press and a die-cutting system were integrated into the training centre. Another five-colour printing machine is to be added to the centre in the near future. The trainees in the workshop also have access to various measuring devices, a sheeter and quality control equipment. The workshop was only moved to a new building in the spring, which now offers a third more space.

Training for mechatronics engineers and industrial mechanics takes place in a separate area of the training centre, which is managed by the Plant Optimisation and Operational Safety team in Industrial Engineering.
„Since November 2023, we have had our own workshop, which is used for training as well as productive operations. Here, our trainees have every opportunity to realise their own projects - be it for the vocational school, Schreiner Group or even for customers.“
Christian Weiser and Mirko Grünheid, training officer
An assembly area, guillotine shears and a milling machine are also available. Further extensions are being planned. However, training is not limited to the workshop: Recently, the trainees took part in an external welding course to further enhance their skills.
