At ProSweets 2018 in Cologne, Gerhard Schubert GmbH will be demonstrating its expertise in the packaging of confectionery and snacks. Among other things, the Flowmodul flow-wrapping unit integrated seamlessly into a TLM system will be on show.
In addition to packaging in tubular bags, Schubert's toploading packaging machine system offers an almost unlimited selection of possible packaging variants.
The flow module
With the Flowmodul, Schubert presents a Tubular bag unit, which is seamlessly integrated into a TLM packaging system. In combination with the proven robot and image processing technology, the flow module enables the highly flexible packaging of all types of snacks and confectionery in tubular bags. The final packaging process in cartons can also be connected to the primary packaging process without an interface in a single TLM packaging system.
With the Flowmodul, small batch sizes, short product life cycles and High product variety can be handled more efficiently than ever before. Schubert's flow-wrapping technology has now proven itself in the packaging of a wide variety of products such as chocolate bars, biscuits, cakes and chocolate figures.
The standardised control system, user-friendliness, highly flexible robot loading, powerful image processing and the fact that customers receive a solution from a single supplier are among the particular advantages of this automation solution. Overall, the technology achieves new best performances in terms of space requirements, changeover times and product variety when packaging a wide variety of products. In Cologne, Schubert will be presenting a Picker line with five F4 robots, The double biscuits are placed in the product feed system of a flow module and packed in tubular bags.

The trade fair appearance will also focus on „industrial digitalisation“ with topics such as predictive maintenance. In this context, the market leader in digital packaging machines will be presenting its web-based platform GRIPS.world. In the long term, it will combine all important functions for monitoring and documenting machine data under a single user interface.
By networking the TLM machines via this digital solution, Schubert will be able to continuously monitor the performance and deviations from target states of the machines and thus further expand its preventive services. The declared aim is to completely avoid unplanned machine downtime.
