Schumacher Packaging Birmingham is starting commercial digital printing operations with the Delta SPC 130 FlexLine Eco+ from Koenig & Bauer Durst. The installation marks a first for the UK market, it is claimed.

Schumacher Packaging Birmingham has commissioned the Delta SPC 130 FlexLine Eco+, the fourth digital printing press from Koenig & Bauer Durst. The press enables highly automated single-pass digital printing for corrugated packaging. The installation in the UK is a milestone in the company's digital production strategy.

„As innovators and pioneers in the industry, we want to show new ways for sustainable production,“ explains Darren Melville, Managing Director of Schumacher Packaging Birmingham. „The Delta SPC 130 is central to our transition to sustainable, cost-efficient digital production.“

Focus on sustainable packaging solutions

On 13 March 2025, Schumacher Packaging is inviting British customers to an open day to experience the machine in action.

Forward-looking investment

The Delta SPC 130 FlexLine Eco+ is part of a €30 million investment in the Birmingham site. The machine reportedly reduces energy consumption thanks to its Eco-Plus dryer and enables a printing speed of up to 80 metres per minute.
