Sealed Air, a provider of protective packaging solutions, has now launched a new recyclable bubble envelope.
The new Mail Lite bubble envelopes are now designed so that the inner bubble envelope can be easily detached from the outer paper envelope. The outer envelope in turn consists of FSC-certified, uncoated kraft paper from responsible forestry. Each component can therefore be reused separately or recycled in the corresponding waste stream.
Mailing bags with transport protection
The newly developed AirCap bubble wrap inside consists of at least 60 per cent recycled material. According to the manufacturer, the shipping bags are also stronger thanks to the co-extruded barrier layer in the bubble wrap and therefore offer more protection during transport than materials without a barrier layer. By 2025, all Sealed Air products should be 100 % recyclable.
„Our new Mail Lite bubble mailers protect goods from damage during transit in numerous e-commerce and fulfilment applications. They have been designed to reduce waste at every stage without compromising on quality and performance.“ Mirella Andriano, Portfolio Manager at Sealed Air.
Instead of the previous full lamination, the inside of the AirCap bubble wrap is now only attached to the top, sides and bottom of the outer paper envelope. Consumers also receive a label on the back of each Mail Lite bubble envelope Notes on recycling.
