The demand for flexible and scalable software systems in intralogistics is growing continuously. Against this backdrop, SEW-Eurodrive and Safelog have formed a strategic partnership at LogiMAT. The aim of the cooperation is to develop a high-performance software system for controlling mobile and stationary processes and to establish it on the market.
Safelog contributes its expertise in software development, while SEW-Eurodrive brings its competencies in drive and automation technology. Safelog will further develop its existing system to meet the requirements of the new partnership. In parallel, SEW-Eurodrive will concentrate on the development of robots and automation solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into the new software system.
Benefits for intralogistics
The new system is set to set benchmarks in the control of intralogistics processes. Dr. Hans Krattenmacher, Managing Director Corporate Innovation Mechatronik at SEW-Eurodrive, emphasises that the solution will be flexible and scalable to meet the specific requirements of users. Safelog owner and Managing Director Michael Wolter sees the collaboration as an opportunity to offer customers powerful solutions for both goods-to-person applications and classic logistics processes.
Use in own production facilities
The developed solution will not only be used for customers but also in SEW-Eurodrive's own plants to demonstrate its performance under real conditions. This is a crucial step towards a software-defined factory based on mobile and stationary robots, powered by SEW-Eurodrive's Movi-C automation toolkit.
The partnership between the two companies demonstrates how innovative solutions for the challenges of intralogistics can be created by pooling expertise. The cooperation promises to significantly increase efficiency and flexibility in process control and could thus be groundbreaking for the future of intralogistics.
