SEW-Eurodrive is expanding its portfolio with an adjustable drive system based on stepper motors. It offers machine manufacturers a resource-saving realisation of adjustment axes with both open-loop and closed-loop control.
The company presents the new variable speed drive system focussing on format adjustment for industries such as food and beverages, pharmaceuticals and logistics. With this expansion of its 48 V portfolio, the Bruchsal-based drive specialist is strengthening its position in the field of automation technology. The system combines software and hardware components to enable efficient and resource-saving engineering of adjustment axes and is tailored to the flexible and precise requirements of modern packaging and logistics processes.
The portfolio consists of five different stepper motors in NEMA23 and NEMA34 sizes, a stepper motor module that can be integrated into the existing Movi-PLC I/O system portfolio, as well as the necessary cabling and a ready-made software module. These components not only enable simple and faster implementation in machines, but also resource-saving format adjustment with open-loop control. Furthermore, closed-loop applications are also possible in field-orientated operation.
The portfolio is therefore ideal for precise movement and adjustment tasks in logistics and offers suitable solutions for applications such as sorting systems, automated storage and picking systems and conveyor technology. The technology enables increased efficiency and flexibility in dynamic processes, such as the handling and transport of goods, which is particularly beneficial in highly automated logistics centres.
