With the acquisition of the Dutch coating specialist Allinova, Siegwerk is expanding its packaging coatings business in a targeted manner - a further step towards its goal of becoming a leading provider of recyclable and digital packaging solutions.
Siegwerk Druckfarben AG has signed an agreement to acquire Allinova, a speciality chemicals company with expertise in coatings. The company, headquartered in Hengelo, Netherlands, has a globally established Product range from polymer dispersions to wax emulsions and adhesives and thus complements Siegwerk's coating portfolio for packaging. Following the completion of the acquisition, the two Allinova managing directors Gijs Elfrink and Bob Horsthuis will remain part of the team.

In April 2024, Siegwerk launched the new global Circular Economy Coatings (CEC) business unit which focuses on functional printing varnishes for the realisation of sustainable packaging innovations in the sense of a circular economy.

Today, the CEC unit functions as a Cross-divisional competence centre for recyclable solutions and supplements the company's conventional coating range with special functional coating technologies.
The latest acquisition follows further strategic investments that Siegwerk has made in recent years to strengthen its position as a Full-range supplier of printing inks and coatings for the packaging market to strengthen its position. In 2022, Siegwerk has La Sorgente one of the most important printing ink suppliers for flexographic printing in Italy - especially for flexible packaging and paper and board applications. Through these and other acquisitions, Siegwerk has made targeted investments that will enable the company to expand its global presence and further strengthen its core business in packaging printing.
