Siegwerk Druckfarben and Ravenwood Packaging are pooling their expertise: Siegwerk's BPA-free coatings are now approved for Ravenwood's linerless systems and are set to accelerate the introduction of sustainable labelling solutions.

Linerless labels dispense with the usual silicone-coated release film, thereby reducing material waste and environmental impact. In addition to a higher label yield per roll, there are also advantages in terms of storage, transport and sustainability. With the now approved coatings, which comply with Nestlé guidelines as well as the Swiss and German printing ink regulations, the solutions are also available for applications in the food, pharmaceutical and hygiene sectors.

Focus on regulatory security and market access

The coatings fulfil the requirements of the German Printing Ink Ordinance (GIO), which defines strict migration limits and toxicological standards. This facilitates international market access and contributes to food safety and consumer protection, according to the company.

Both companies are planning a joint appearance at the upcoming LabelExpo, where they want to present the integrated solution for the first time.
