Smart labels can display the status of a container without the need to change the label. At LogiMAT, CCL Faubel will be showcasing various applications for smart labels.
„The e-paper display of a smart label is variable. It can therefore display up-to-date information in full at any time,“ explains Sven Rath, Business Development Manager at CCL Faubel. An RFID tag controls the e-paper display, which is why the stored data volume can be many times higher than for a paper label with a one-dimensional barcode or a two-dimensional code such as a QR and Data Matrix code.
Smart Labels from CCL Faubel are battery-free, which has one particular advantage for Sven Rath: „A Regular maintenance is not necessary. The labelling is therefore extremely durable and also very robust thanks to the sturdy plastic housing.“ The housing and its attachment can be customised depending on the application. In most cases, the Smart Label screwed or inserted. The size of the display can also vary.
„Digital labelling creates maximum flexibility for warehousing. Our customers don't have to provide routers or other additional IT infrastructure. They can read and change the smart label data with stationary and mobile readers. A cloud app makes the software available at all times. Automated interfaces and functions for direct printing can also be implemented.“
