
Smurfit Kappa has introduced Twin Kraft Grease Guard MB12, a sustainable packaging solution for fast food. The new packaging was developed for the Lithuanian fast food restaurant Fresh Post.
The new Twin Kraft Grease Guard MB12 packaging solution for the Lithuanian fast-food restaurant Fresh Post was developed in collaboration with independent packaging consultant Juozas Baranauskas and is available in a variety of colours. Part of the rapidly growing product portfolio from Smurfit Kappa in the Better Planet Packaging, which offers sustainable alternatives to existing single-use plastic solutions.
The new Fresh Post packaging consists of Twin Kraft Solid Board from Smurfit Kappa, a paper-based monomaterial, which was specially developed for food packaging. By integrating the company's MB12 technology, the recyclable material can adsorb mineral oils, making food safe while protecting flavour and taste.
Digital add-on ensures transparency
The 100 per cent FSC-certified packaging is manufactured in an energy-efficient manner and saves both electricity and water compared to the previous solution. In addition, the entire life cycle of the packaging, including the origin of the materials, the supply chain and how they are collected at the end of their life and recycled to produce new packaging, is presented on the Fresh Post website. a digital add-on, that offers consumers full transparency.
