Companies continue to react to the war in Ukraine and draw consequences for their business. The Smurfit Kappa Group is no exception. The company has decided to withdraw from the Russian market.
Smurfit Kappa has already announced its support for Russian business, including all Imports and exports as well as any short or long-term financing discontinued. The withdrawal will take place in an orderly manner, during which employees will continue to be paid and fulfil legal obligations. The company's Russian business accounts for less than 1 per cent of the forecast turnover.
The Group stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and all those affected by the attack on Ukraine and its people. The Group is providing humanitarian support for the Ukrainian people and will continue to do so. Support is also being provided to the families of SKG employees and contractors from Ukraine, and products and services are being made available to support relief efforts, as well as financial assistance to a number of aid organisations. The company has partnered with the Red Cross to financially support their important work.
