Sternenfrucht Produktions GmbH & Co KG is entering the world of aseptic beverage filling. The company, based in Liebenburg in central Germany, has opted for filling technology from SIG Combibloc.
Production on the filling machine of the type CFA 209 has started and the first „star fruits“ have been combiblocPremium packed. In the medium term, the company will switch the entire product range, which was previously filled by a co-packer in packaging from another manufacturer, to carton packs from SIG Combibloc.
Reinhard Hartung, owner of Sternenfrucht, explains: “With our own production, we are now really taking off with Sternenfrucht and can prove in practice what we mean by innovation, pragmatism and a willingness to take risks, the core elements of our corporate philosophy.“
Sternenfrucht Produktions GmbH emerged from the parent company Hartung Nahrungsmittel, which was founded over 30 years ago and has been supplying high-quality convenience products for the communal catering and gastronomy sectors ever since - not only in Germany, but now also in neighbouring countries.
Hartung: „Investments always require courage and idealism, but we are convinced that with our own production company we can quickly and flexibly bring beverage concentrates to the market that are in demand. And in line with this, we believe that packaging is the way of the future: it is environmentally friendly, resealable, lightweight, unbreakable and easy to stack. This means that they also have clear advantages over other types of packaging in terms of logistics.“
In future, Sternenfrucht intends to use the SIG Combibloc filling machine for more than just its own beverages. As Co-Packer the company will also offer other food manufacturers the opportunity to aseptically fill products into carton packs without having to invest in their own filling machine.
