On 1 September, 22 apprentices started their training at Alpla. The company was thus able to increase the number of apprentices and is now training 271 apprentices in Austria, China, Germany, India, Mexico, Poland and South Africa.

The first two apprenticeship places were filled in the newly offered occupation of production metrology. The 22 filled apprenticeship positions are a new high in Vorarlberg after around 15 in previous years. „We want to offer our technological edge and further expand our market position. To do this, we also need more staff and will be training even more talented young people to become specialists in the future,“ emphasises training manager Gerald Spieler. The new apprentices will be trained in the following professions: plastics process engineering, electrical engineering, production metrology, machining technology, IT operating technology, toolmaking design, mechanical engineering design, media specialist and operational logistics.

The training of skilled labour has been one of the success factors of the internationally active family business for over 60 years. Alpla is a „nationally recognised training company“, an „excellent training company“ of the state of Vorarlberg and also operates its own training workshops (Future Corner) at nine locations in Germany. The dual system of practical and theoretical training has also been exported to other parts of the world since 2013. China and Mexico were followed by India, Poland and South Africa in 2023. Alpla is currently training 271 apprentices worldwide. Since autumn, they have been able to gain experience at other training locations as part of the global exchange programme.

„Young people are important pillars of our success. With us, they learn exciting professions with many opportunities for advancement, benefit from our further training programme and experience a familiar working environment. Every year, we are delighted to welcome motivated newcomers to our ‚Family of Pioneers‘.“
