Start of Paris Packaging Week

Paris Packaging Week has opened its doors on the grounds of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles and is expecting more than 13,000 visitors over the two days of the fair.

Paris Packaging Week has opened its doors on the grounds of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles and is now expecting more than 13,000 visitors over the two days of the fair.

Among the highlights of this year's event are a number of high-calibre speakers, including Edouard d'Arbaumont, Managing Director for Southern Europe at Breitling. He will provide insights into Breitling's solutions on 28 January at 15:00 in the Circular Economy Theatre. in the luxury packaging sector and report on the brand's strategies in terms of innovation, customer experience and sustainability.

On 29 January at 14:30, Mathieu Lehanneur, the designer of the Paris 2024 Olympic torch and Designer of the Year 2024, will give the keynote speech at the Circular Economy Theatre. Lehanneur will talk about his creative career in the design world and his view on innovation and sustainability in packaging.

Pentawards Gallery shows the best packaging designs for the first time

For the first time at Paris Packaging Week, the Pentawards Gallery over 100 of the most outstanding packaging designs from around the world the largest exhibition of its kind to date. Also on display are the award-winning packaging from last year's Pentawards competition, selected by a jury of experts from brands such as Estée Lauder, Microsoft and Puma.

On 28 January at 15:30, visitors will also have the opportunity to attend a Live performance by visual artist Craig Black to experience. Black, who is known for his acrylic fusion technique, will be creating customised bottle tops during a networking session at the Pentawards Festival.

Start-ups in the discovery zone

For the first time, the Discovery Zone will be an area where the latest packaging innovations will be presented. This is where innovative start-ups will showcase their solutions that focus on Sustainability, reuse and intelligent packaging concentrate.

„The Discovery Zone is a space that allows us to explore innovations together, even as competitors. It focuses on what could become the key tool for economic and environmental change. It was therefore a natural choice for us to take part in this area of Paris Packaging Week.“

(RE)SET produces recyclable refill and reuse systems and will be showcasing its solutions in the Discovery Zone alongside KIUD, a manufacturer of reusable Packaging made from recycled textiles and AlterEco Disposable, producer of sustainable moulded fibre applications. Also represented: Woamy Biofoam with cellulose-based biofoam solutions, Releaf Paper with its recyclable paper made from leaves and Forewood with 100 per cent plant-based caps and closures for the cosmetics industry.
