Empack 2025 invites trade visitors to Dortmund today and tomorrow (7 and 8 May) - and offers a compact platform for the latest developments in industrial and transport packaging. With around 140 exhibitors and a strong focus on practical implementation, the trade fair addresses companies from North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond.
At the same time, Logistics & Automation will take place in the neighbouring hall, creating additional synergies for visitors.
The major challenges facing the industry take centre stage:
- Sustainability and circular economy
- Disposable vs. reusable
- Digital packaging solutions
- Use of artificial intelligence (AI) in logistics and packaging processes
- Dealing with new legal requirements, such as the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation)
At the Insights Stage, these topics will be addressed in a practical manner in the form of presentations, panel discussions and workshops.
Programme highlights
On the first day of the trade fair, Fraunhofer IML will be organising a session on research and industrial applications, including the Pal2Rec project for analysing logistics data using pallets and AI-based volume optimisation in e-commerce.
The German Reusable Packaging Association and the Reusable Packaging Initiative Foundation are organising sessions on reusable packaging solutions - with practical examples.
Visitors can also look forward to a Linde forklift test area, after-work lounges with music and drinks, and digitally supported data exchange via Touch & Collect.
