The construction of a new Coperion GmbH recycling technology centre has started in Niederbiegen near Weingarten. In the Coperion Recycling Innovation Centre, customers can develop and test products and recycling processes together with experts.
Driven by the increasing global demands for a circular economy for plastics, a clear trend towards more recycling has emerged in recent years. Coperion is responding to this trend with its systems and processes designed for recycling applications and with the new Recycling Innovation Centre. All essential Recycling process steps from material conveying and dosing to extrusion, pelletising and material post-processing are covered. In addition, the company will concentrate its own research activities for the recycling of plastics in the new Recycling Innovation Centre.

Due to changes in consumer behaviour and increasingly strict environmental legislation worldwide, the plastics industry has long since recognised that it needs to produce more sustainably. Many plastics preparation and processing companies around the world are faced with the question of how to recycling can be realised on an industrial scale and with the highest quality. In order to be able to answer these questions on a customer-specific basis, the new Recycling Innovation Centre will be working with customers from all over the world to develop concrete solutions.
