During Paris Packaging Week, the Stoelzle Glass Group and Technicaps presented a new refillable glass system. Le Perpétuel is easy to assemble, fully recyclable and consists of a lighter glass body. This means that CO2-emissions can be reduced.
Attendees at Paris Packaging Week were able to take a first look at a new refillable cosmetics jar developed by the Stoelzle Glass Group and Technicaps was presented. The highly technical yet easy-to-use glass „Le Perpétuel“ was designed with a Focus on sustainability developed. This product is marketed exclusively by the two companies. The cap is easy to remove and replace and remains very secure even after repeated use.
The challenge for Stoelzle was to realise an improved standard ring that contains three notches with different diameters and a groove. The company modified the dimensions of the classic 50 ml glass jar so that the cup can fit seamlessly into the glass jar. The three notches provide a Easy attachment and removal of the cup lid, while the amplitude was calculated in such a way that the wrist is not constricted when filling the cup.
The raised height of the cup makes it easier to grip. The deliberate design ensures that the plastic cup remains in the glass when the lid is unscrewed. To keep the CO2-emissions, the weight has been reduced as far as possible. In 2023, Stoelzle wants to produce the glass with at least 15 percent PCR without changing the colour of the glass.
Technicaps has developed a cup that is easy to handle and luxurious, but at the same time guarantees the functionalities of sealing and heat-sealing. The cup is made of 100 per cent PP and is therefore 100 per cent recyclable. The recyclable lid allows it to be used for at least four product lifetimes. The „Le Perpetuel“ container is fully recyclable. After the zthe customer has compensated for the C02 emissions, that were created during the production of the glass and the cup.
