Successful start to the Circular Valley Convention

Over 200 speakers and 100 exhibitors provided strong impetus.

The premiere of the Circular Valley Convention 2025 impressed with over 200 top speakers, 100 exhibitors and high-calibre discussions. The event in Düsseldorf established itself as the central platform for the circular economy.

The first Circular Valley Convention (CVC) took place in Düsseldorf from 12 to 13 March 2025. Organised by Messe Düsseldorf in cooperation with the Circular Valley Foundation and the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology (UMSICHT), the event brought together experts from business, science and politics.

„With the Circular Valley Convention, we have created a central platform that provides decisive impetus for the transformation to a circular economy across all sectors,“ emphasises Wolfram N. Diener, Chairman of the Board of Management of Messe Düsseldorf. The event combined an international conference on three stages with a practice-orientated expo featuring more than 100 exhibitors.

Global challenges and economic opportunities

The conference highlighted the most pressing challenges and potentials of the circular economy. High-profile speakers such as Prof Dr Holger Hanselka (Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft), Ulrike Sapiro (Henkel AG), Katja Busch (DHL Group) and Jörg Deppmeyer (Der Grüne Punkt) discussed innovative approaches for a sustainable circular economy.

  • New recycling technologies for various industries
  • Political framework conditions for a functioning circular economy

Science meets business

The event emphasised the importance of Cooperation between research institutions and companies. According to Prof Hanselka from the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the CVC offers an „ideal opportunity to share practice-orientated solutions with industry and initiate new partnerships“.

Future of the Circular Valley Convention

Due to the positive response, the next Circular Valley Convention from 11 to 12 March 2026 will take place. The aim is to further promote networking between international players and bring innovative solutions to market maturity.
