Südpack was ranked 2nd out of 4,000 companies in the 2022 Innovation Ranking by WirtschaftsWoche.

Südpack has received another award from WirtschaftsWoche. Südpack was ranked 2nd out of 4,000 companies in the Innovation Ranking 2022. The company came out on top in extensive interviews with management, customers and competitors. 

On behalf of the WirtschaftsWoche Munich Strategy has analysed the innovative strength of a total of 4,000 SMEs across all sectors. To this end In a first step, the Munich-based consultancy analysed annual financial statements and presentations. In the end, 400 companies were shortlisted and analysed in detail. The consultants relied in particular on in-depth interviews with managing directors, customers and competitors - and aThe results are based on a so-called „innovation score“.

One third of this is based on the turnover and profit development and two thirds on the innovative strength of the respective company. How many and which product developments are brought to market, how high the annual expenditure on research and development is and how innovative the medium-sized company is categorised in the market were also included in the assessment. „All the winners excel through High degree of adaptability, clever concepts to combat staff shortages - and sustainable ideas for the climate“, attests Munich Strategy - and counts South pack explicitly „among the pioneers in sustainability“.

„However, we understand sustainability to mean more than just our investments in a combined heat and power plant and photovoltaics. We think holistically and also act holistically. We are vehemently committed to establishing this technology as a complementary recycling process on the market in order to optimally support companies in fulfilling ambitious recycling quotas and to keep existing plastics in the cycle.“

For the pharmaceutical industry in 2021, the company developed a PP-based, halogen-free film for the production of blister packaging and other pharmaceutical solids applications - and thus for the first time brought a Sustainable alternative with a high barrier profile to the widely used PVC/PVdC blister materials on the market.

The company won the German Packaging Award 2021 in Gold with its SPQ (Sustainable Print Quality) technology. SPQ improves packaging quality through a lower consumption of paint and solvents, less production waste and lower energy consumption, CO2-Balance sheet in packaging printing - with improved print quality at the same time.
