BillerudKorsnäs is launching two new low paper weights of its CrownBoard Prestige. Produced on the KM7, the world's most modern board machine according to the company, the two new low grammages are particularly interesting for the graphic arts industry.

CrownBoard Prestige 170 and 200 gsm are said to combine an excellent print surface with strength and mouldability. The technical properties of the board are due to the capabilities of KM7, including advanced coating technology and modern online quality monitoring.

Despite the low weight, the cardboard is strong, consisting of 100 % primary wood fibres and has a 3-layer structure. Thanks to its strength, it should be possible to choose a light grammage in order to reduce the packaging weight. The weight reduction saves costs and reduces the environmental impact as less raw material is used, less energy is required, less waste is produced and transport and storage requirements are reduced.
