SupplyOne has acquired the packaging distributor Specialty Packaging of East Hartford, Connecticut (USA). The company states that with this acquisition, it is expanding its presence in New England and simultaneously broadening its offerings in the areas of food packaging, packaging technology, and services.

Specialty Packaging was founded in 2012 by Chris Orsini and Keith Streib. Both are expected to continue to lead the company following the completion of the acquisition. The company offers packaging solutions for various applications and is active in segments including food packaging with films, trays, bags, and corrugated packaging.

According to SupplyOne, the acquisition complements the existing portfolio, particularly with expertise in packaging distribution, food packaging, and packaging technology. Specialty Packaging's offering also includes the company's own microwave-safe packaging solution, SteamRight, which allows frozen foods to be steamed directly in the packaging. Furthermore, the company supplies protective packaging, services for packaging machines, packaging design, and warehousing and logistics services.

„The acquisition of Specialty Packaging strengthens our presence in New England, while also expanding our capabilities in packaging distribution, food packaging, and packaging engineering – key strategic priorities for SupplyOne.“
