The company's commitment to greater sustainability is not only reflected in its products, but also in the construction and operation of its sites. Volpak has therefore decided to implement a photovoltaic generator field at its own plant.

As global concern about the impact on the environment increases, companies such as Volpak The company has been at the forefront of this endeavour, demonstrating the central role of sustainable initiatives in shaping a responsible and resilient future. For these reasons, the company has installed a photovoltaic array of 920 SHARP mono solar modules, each with an output of 540 Wp, over an area of 2,300 m2. A special feature of this system is the ability to connect any Series of panels to be switched off individually via continuous current switch, which enables flexible and precise management of the energy generated.

The entire system has a robust total capacity of 496,800 Wp, which can be seamlessly integrated into the integrated into the building's internal power grid and effectively contributes to covering the internal energy requirements. Four three-phase inverters, each with an output of 110 kW, ensure that the electricity generated complies with the voltage and frequency standards of the applicable regulations and guarantees a continuous and reliable flow of electricity.

Energy flows into own company

Since 19 June 2023, when the system was commissioned, all of the photoelectric energy generated, which is expected to reach 84,675 kWh by the end of the year, has been used in primarily used for own consumption. This strategic shift leads to a reduction in electricity consumption from the grid, whereby it is estimated that the energy saved account for 42 per cent of total electricity consumption which leads to a reduction in CO2-emissions in tonnes is forecast. Volpak's commitment to sustainable energy management emphasises a concrete contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and is an example of the potential positive impact of sustainable initiatives in a corporate context.
