Südpack is one of the most sustainable medium-sized companies

Südpack has been voted one of the top 50 most sustainable medium-sized companies in Germany for the second time in WirtschaftsWoche's cross-industry sustainability ranking.

For the second time in a row, Südpack has been voted one of the top 50 most sustainable medium-sized companies in Germany in WirtschaftsWoche's cross-industry sustainability ranking. The film manufacturer came in 10th place this year.

For this second study, the Munich-based consultancy Munich Strategy once again analysed the following in a complex process on behalf of the business magazine the activities of 4,000 companies in the three areas of environment, social affairs and governance (ESG criteria).

„We have been investing in a wide range of sustainability activities for many years. From production processes and products to construction projects, internal recycling streams and comprehensive investments in a functioning circular economy through to society, employees and the environment. We are therefore all the more pleased that our commitment has been recognised and that we are also listed among the 50 best in this second cross-industry study - and now even in 10th place.“

Munich Strategy used an algorithm to analyse the sustainability reports as well as the press and social media activities of 4,000 companies with a turnover of between 10 million and around 1.5 billion euros in order to select the sustainability pioneers among German SMEs. From the data the experts then calculated the sustainability score, on the basis of which the 400 best companies were narrowed down and scrutinised in detailed interviews with various stakeholders. In addition to ecological aspects, social and governance issues were also included in the assessment.

The film manufacturer wants to emphasise its regional and social commitment. Südpack also complements the exhibition, which is with the almost limitless creative freedom of modern plastics The exhibition will focus on current recycling concepts for plastics at the end of their life cycle.
