Sustainability took centre stage when developing the displays for the relaunch and product expansion of Jokolade. Thimm developed a solution that, according to the company, consists of 100 per cent recyclable corrugated cardboard and thus also supports the circular economy.
The Fairtrade-certified chocolate „Jokolade“ from presenter Joko Winterscheid is produced with a focus on Focus on responsibility, sustainability and transparency. The young company aims to raise awareness of abuses in the cocoa industry and improve production conditions. Two years after the launch of the first Jokolade varieties, the recipes of the existing varieties have now been improved and the range expanded: to coincide with the start of summer, Jokolade is launching a limited-edition summer variety as well as chocolate bars. In order to strengthen the brand presence at the POS for this occasion with a secondary placement, Jokolade is relying on a customised display from Thimm.
Sustainability also played a central role in the development of the filigree 1/4 display. The 155 cm high display was produced in stable EE flute produced from testliner paper made from 100 per cent recycled fibres., paper, i.e. recycled paper. The natural brown colour of the outer cover is also part of the display's design concept: both the base and the folded, angled tray with a total of six facings were therefore printed with the Jokolade brand name in black in a minimalist style. The display also attracts attention thanks to the Communication surfaces on the topper and on the coloured panels on them. These were printed Elements digitally printed with environmentally friendly, water-based colours.
The topper was manufactured in such a way that it can be easily inserted into the tray using two corrugated cardboard tabs at the bottom. This is the The longevity of the display benefits from the fact that the top sign can be replaced in a few simple steps when a new promotion is launched at the POS. The same applies to the bezels in the display tray itself: These can be arranged variably in the display. This also applies to the product trays in which the bars and tablets are presented. The placement of the panels allows the customer's attention to be focussed on the products at the POS.
The rear wall of the product trays, from which the chocolate bars and tablets are removed by the end customer, is slightly slanted backwards. This helps to ensure that the products tip backwards rather than forwards when they are removed. In this way shelves or in the display, the end consumer always has a direct view of the front of the product..
In order to compensate for the angle so that the product trays can be placed straight in the facings, the Entire display tray designed at an identical angle. This makes it easy to pick up the products and view the display. The bevelled display tray is attached to the base, ensuring a straight stand. As only paper is used for the entire construction of the customised display and no additional plastic parts are used, the Display completely returned to the material cycle become.
