Promix Solutions will be presenting innovative technologies for mixing, foaming and cooling at Fakuma 2024, which takes place from 15 to 19 October in Friedrichshafen. In addition to the Microcell foam extrusion systems, the company will also be exhibiting static mixers, melt coolers and inline viscometers for real-time process control.

The Microcell technology from Promix enables the Reduction of product weight by 20 to 50 per cent, by utilising environmentally friendly atmospheric gases to create a microcellular foam structure in polymers. This technology leads to considerable savings in raw materials and helps to reduce CO2-footprint. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including films, sheets, foam core and corrugated pipes as well as profiles and cable sheathing.

More than 300 references are in use worldwide and machine manufacturers are increasingly integrating the technology into their systems. Microcell technology can be used with a wide range of materials, such as PP, PE, PET, bioplastics and more, and is available both for new systems and as a retrofit solution.

Another highlight at the Fakuma is the „Visco-P“ inline viscometer. This System monitors the viscosity of the material in real time directly in the melt stream and enables immediate adjustment of the extrusion process. Especially in times when recyclates and raw materials from different sources are used, the system makes process control much easier. Thanks to the modular designs the Visco-P can be integrated into existing systems without a bypass and is compatible with almost all polymers and extruder designs.
