Swiss packaging industry meets in Bern

On 28 and 29 January 2026, the Swiss packaging industry will meet at the Empack trade fair at Bernexpo. The event will be held under the motto "The future of packaging" and will be organised jointly with Logistics & Automation. More than 3,300 trade visitors are expected to attend.

Sixty-five exhibitors have already confirmed their participation, and the remaining stand space is almost taken. Premium partners include Biplast AG and Peyer Marking AG, who will be presenting sustainable packaging solutions and modern labelling concepts. In addition to other companies such as BVS Verpackungs-Systeme AG, Cargopack Group AG and Videojet Technologies Suisse GmbH, the Swiss Packaging Institute (SVI) is also involved as a programme partner.

Specialist programme and Packaging Award

The "Packaging Talks", organised by the SVI, are a central component of the trade fair. Topics include new legal requirements such as the European Packaging Ordinance PPWR, digital technologies and artificial intelligence. The winners of the Swiss Packaging Award 2025 will also be presented. According to the SVI, they are intended to showcase the innovative strength of the industry and provide inspiration for the future.

Research, networking and sustainability

The "Science Experience Area" provides universities with a platform to present their latest results in packaging research. At the same time, the organiser Easyfairs is focusing on sustainable networking. The digital tool "Touch & Collect" is designed to capture contacts efficiently and save resources. Visitors can register free of charge with an invitation code and gain access to all areas of the trade fair.
