Syntegon is presenting a new counting unit for sandwich biscuits at iba 2025 in Düsseldorf. The innovation promises gentle handling, greater efficiency and less product waste.

From 18 to 22 May 2025, the international baked goods industry will meet at iba in Düsseldorf. Syntegon, a leading provider of packaging technologies, will also be there to present a new solution for the efficient packaging of biscuits. The European premiere of the FGCT counter feeder for sandwich biscuits will take centre stage at the trade fair.

The system groups biscuits in the desired quantity particularly gently and places them upright in trays or directly into the infeed of a flow-wrapping machine. The aim is to achieve an efficient packaging process while minimising product waste. Evenly aligned in the tray or bag, the biscuits should impress with their quality and attractive presentation when the pack is opened.

Visitors to iba can visit the Syntegon stand in Hall 9, Stand A30, to see the new technology for themselves during live demonstrations. According to Syntegon, the new counting feeder is part of a broad portfolio of handling options and complements existing system solutions.

„We address our customers“ key challenges with highly flexible packaging systems that are customised to the products."

Daniel Bossel, Product Manager at Syntegon

The industry is facing challenges such as a shortage of skilled labour, rising costs and growing product diversity - for example, due to the trend towards gluten-free or sugar-reduced biscuits. According to the company, these developments require particularly gentle and efficient processing solutions.
