At the end of January, Syntegon will be presenting an innovation at ProSweets in Cologne. The company will be presenting the Makat BC96 oiling drum with recipe management, centrelining, automation and process monitoring.
On the ProSweets presents Syntegon will showcase its system expertise for the confectionery industry - from kitchen, moulding and finishing technologies to packaging solutions. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience highlights of the overall solution, such as the Fully automatic oil drum Makat BC96, which is being presented at a trade fair for the first time. The company will also be presenting a high-speed packaging line with a new vertical packaging innovation, the SVX Duplex. This can be experienced in live demonstrations at the stand.
Fully automated oiling process: The Makat BC96 series sets new standards in production
The more production steps manufacturers automate, the more stable and reliable their production becomes. Product finishing is the last step in the manufacturing process for gummies and jellies - but no less important than the previous process steps. It still influences the quality of the packaged gum on the shelf.
„Many confectionery manufacturers face the challenge of fluctuating product quality and production line performance in different shifts, as well as a lack of qualified personnel. Centrelining and automation can help to overcome this problem, not only for the kitchen or depositing line, but also for the finishing equipment. That was our motivation for developing our new Makat BC96.“
Dr Sandra Link, Product Manager at Makat
The fully automated Makat BC96 oiling drum is equipped with Several centrelining features and recipe management to reduce process variability. Via a user interface (HMI), operators can set individual target values for various production parameters and save them in a product recipe to retrieve the data when required. In this way, manufacturers of rubbers and jellies can achieve more reliable processes that not only lead to higher product quality, but also to a more efficient production process. higher overall effectiveness of the systems (OEE), reduced product waste and faster product changeovers. In addition, product-specific parameters can be set and the rubber can be customised.

Sensors facilitate process monitoring and preventive fault detection in the lubrication process. The integrated software immediately recognises deviations and reports them to the operator.
„This enables the operating personnel to continue monitoring processes and avoid process faults or at least initiate troubleshooting at an early stage. For consistently high product quality and smooth production.“
Sandra Link
The BC96 has an operator guidance system to further support the operator. Integrated step-by-step instructions facilitate the start of production or predefined cleaning procedures, for example.
Recipe management, centrelining, automation and process monitoring as well as the operator guidance of the Makat BC96 are all geared towards common goals: a Improved process reliability, higher quality of the rubbers, fewer rejects and high machine availability.

The SVX Duplex is part of the vertical SVX series that Syntegon developed during the interpack 2023 has presented. It is the machine of choice for high-speed vertical packaging with an output of up to 600 pouches per minute.
The key innovation of all SVX machines is a patent-pending drive for transverse seam sealing. Four independently controlled servomotors ensure full control over vertical and horizontal movements - and therefore reliable transverse seam sealing. Thanks to the combination of four motors and low inertia, the drive also enables a very high output.
„Customers are always looking for solutions that can reliably produce tight cross-seam seals and therefore even more securely packaged products. The SVX series supports them in this endeavour without having to compromise on speed. Depending on the packaging parameters and the dosage of the product, the SVX Duplex with two filling tubes achieves an output of up to 600 pouches per minute.“

The SVX series also stands out in terms of design and overall aesthetics: A front cylinder with round sliding doors ensures easy handling of the machine and barrier-free access. When opened, the doors rotate to the rear of the cylinder so that they do not hinder the operators in their daily work. And with a machine width of just 1,220 mm, the SVX Duplex is easy to manoeuvre. Integrate into new and existing packaging lines.
