Whether a retrofit or new system, primary or secondary packaging: Syntegon's solutions make it easier to switch to sustainable materials such as paper, mono-materials or grass-based corrugated board. At Fachpack, the company will be showcasing a complete solution for paper packaging.
An integrated system, consisting of a vertical form, fill and seal machine and an Elematic case packer, produces Stand-up pouches made from recyclable paper for pasta and packs it in shipping cartons. In addition to using mono materials for all standard bag formats, the machine can also process paper to pack products in pillow, block bottom or doy bags with a height of up to 219 millimetres. This makes it suitable for packaging confectionery, baked goods, biscuits and powder products.
The integrated case packer is also characterised by the use of materials based on renewable raw materials: It processes solid and corrugated cardboard of various qualities - even particularly sustainable grass fibre corrugated cardboard. It can even process curved blanks. This significantly reduces waste. Up to 100 different packaging designs are possible.
Glue-free cardboard moulding
The Kliklok ACE carton erector ensures better recyclability of secondary packaging. can erect boxes either with glue or, thanks to the lockstyle process, completely glue-free. It also enables the glue-free moulding of paper trays with compartments. This allows manufacturers to replace conventional plastic trays for biscuits or bars with more environmentally friendly paper trays.
Sustainable materials with awards
Syntegon was honoured this year with the German Packaging Award for its innovative paper blister packaging, which the company developed together with the Finnish packaging material manufacturer Huhtamaki has developed. The paper blisters are an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional push-through packaging for tablets. The year before, Syntegon received the packaging award for its „Shaped Paper Pods“, sustainable textured capsules made of paper that are characterised by their special feel. Visitors can see and touch these and other paper solutions.
