Etimex Primary Packaging will be presenting its latest packaging solutions at Fachpack 2024 with a clear focus on sustainability and technological progress. The Vistaform PP barrier thermoforming film and the Purelay high performance blister for the pharmaceutical industry will take centre stage.
With a clear focus on environmentally friendly materials and advanced packaging technologies Etimex, how quality and sustainability can be combined. The Vistaform PP barrier thermoforming film and the Purelay High Performance Blister take centre stage.
The Vistaform PP barrier thermoforming film is a further development of the tried-and-tested Vistaform thermoforming film and offers a Sustainable solution for packaging fresh food. The film impresses with its oxygen barrier, which guarantees the freshness of foods such as cheese, sausage, vegan products and pasta for longer. With a material thickness from 250 µm, the PP film offers a thermoformability that is comparable to APET (amorphous polyethylene terephthalate) and is also highly transparent.
The high machine capability of the Vistaform PP barrier thermoforming film enables the Use on existing packaging systems without the need for customisation. Its dimensional stability at high temperatures is particularly advantageous, making it ideal for the pasteurisation of food. These properties make the film a preferred choice for demanding packaging solutions in the food industry. In addition, Etimex offers Vistaform PP Barrier thermoforming film in combination with Lamiseal sealing film, which can be used for Reliable sealing as well as the Low SIT variant for a particularly low sealing temperature.
Sustainability in pharmaceutical packaging
The company is pursuing the goal of increasingly Packaging made from 2nd generation renewable raw materials to be developed. These raw materials, which are obtained from waste and residual materials, have a significantly lower impact on the environment than conventional fossil raw materials and help to conserve natural resources. One outstanding example of this is the Purelay High Performance Blister, which was specially developed for the pharmaceutical industry.
This blister is largely made from renewable raw materials and enables Etimex to minimise the CO2-emissions in the production process. According to the company, emissions can be reduced by up to 50 per cent by using the innovative materials without compromising the high product quality. The sustainable 2nd generation raw materials therefore offer a more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional packaging materials and at the same time contribute to an improved ecological balance.
In addition to the new packaging solutions, Etimex will also be presenting Specialist pack also presented the newly opened Pack4Future innovation centre. In this modern centre, companies can turn initial ideas for packaging shapes into prototypes. With the help of the machinery Sample production in small series and the manufacture of prototypes in 3D printing is possible. Various packaging concepts such as vacuum thermoforming or modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) can also be tested.
At the Pack4Future Innovation Centre, customers have the opportunity, develop sustainable packaging solutions under real production conditions and test them. This offers companies in the food and pharmaceutical industries the opportunity to develop customised packaging solutions that meet both product protection and sustainability requirements.
With its new packaging solutions, Etimex is focussing on environmentally friendly alternatives that meet the increasing demands for sustainability in the packaging industry. The Vistaform PP barrier thermoforming film and the Purelay High Performance blister are examples of how the company is Modern technology combined with resource-saving materials, to develop packaging that is both ecologically and economically convincing.
„Our aim is to develop packaging solutions that not only fulfil our customers' product requirements, but also help to reduce CO2-footprint. With our innovations such as the Vistaform PP barrier thermoforming film and the Purelay High Performance Blister, we are setting new standards for sustainable packaging solutions in the food and pharmaceutical industry.“
