Tetra Pak has acquired Johnson Industries International, a company specialising in the design and manufacture of equipment and lines for the production of mozzarella cheese.

The acquisition expands Tetra Pak's comprehensive portfolio of technological solutions for cheese production and strengthens its position as one of the world's leading suppliers of cheese production equipment.

Johnson Industries International based in Wisconsin, USA, is one of North America's leading suppliers in the high-volume segment for the manufacture of high-quality Mozzarella. In addition, Johnson Industries International manufactures a range of equipment for slicing, grating and treating cheese in brine. Despite the acquisition, the US company will retain its current location and continue to focus on its core business.

Monica Gimre, Executive Vice President Processing Systems at Tetra Pak: „With the acquisition of Johnson Industries International, we are gaining important expertise and technology knowledge in an area of the growing cheese market that is playing an increasingly important role in our business. Many of our customers are in the process of expanding their production in this category. With the acquisition, we can now ensure that they have access to comprehensive equipment and service solutions. These will help to minimise the complexity of plant management.“
