Tetra Pak is planning to build a new production plant for closures in Rayong (Thailand). The company is thus responding to the increasing demand for well-designed and high-quality closure solutions. The plant is scheduled to open in early 2018.
Every year, more than three billion closures will be produced. The investment totals 24 million euros and is expected to create around 60 jobs. The new plant will create additional capacity and expand much-needed local production. It is an expansion of the existing production plant for drinking straws and longitudinal seam strips in Rayong.
Michael Zacka, Cluster Vice President, Tetra Pak South Asia, East Asia and Oceania (SAEA&O), explains: „The new production facility is further proof that we have great confidence in the growth of this market. It also underlines our commitment to putting our customers“ success at the centre of everything we do. Together with the new packaging material production plant that we will open in Vietnam in 2019 - the fourth in South Asia - we are improving the framework to better serve our customers in this exciting part of the world."
