In June, the SIG Group, Swiss provider of packaging solutions, celebrated its 170th anniversary under the motto "For better". The company can look back on an innovative history in the field of bag-in-box systems.
The company, which was founded in 1853 and has its headquarters in Neuhausen, Switzerland, took the opportunity to celebrate the Group and shed light on its future potential.
The two anniversary events were attended primarily by SIG executives and residents of the municipality of Neuhausen, but also by Customers from all over the world part.
"The 170th anniversary of the company is a reason to celebrate. It was an excellent opportunity for us to share the SIG spirit with customers and employees. The events showed everyone how SIG has developed over the years. However, one key point has always remained the same: our commitment "for better" - for customers, consumers and the planet."

Innovations in beverage cartons
The first beverage carton and the first filling machine were launched on the European market in 1930. Scholle, now part of SIG, developed the Bag-in-box systemwhich changed the distribution of liquids.
In 1975, beverage carton supplier PKL launched the combibloc aseptic packaging and filling system onto the market. SIG took over PKL in 1989 and thus created the Basis for growth in the aseptic packaging sector. At the beginning of this century, SIG decided to completely to concentrate on the packaging business. With the acquisition of Scholle IPN and Evergreen Asia in 2022, the company's product range now includes Carton packs for fresh and aseptic products as well as bag-in-box and spouted pouch solutions.
