The largest European showcase for packaging invites you: Until 23 May 2026, companies, institutions and individuals from Germany and abroad can present their innovations and best solutions at the German Packaging Award submit.
The prize, organised by the German Packaging Institute (dvi), is awarded by an independent jury of experts across all materials and segments in ten categories. At a festive awards ceremony, the winning teams receive a trophy, certificate, lots of attention and applause from the industry.

Ten categories to choose from
Ten categories are available for the submission of products, prototypes and concepts, ranging from Design, Functionality & Convenience, Product Presentation, Economy and Sustainability to Logistics & Material Flow, New Material, Digitalisation and Packaging Machinery (Engineering, Technology, Software). Simultaneous submission in several categories is possible. There is a special category for pupils, students and trainees.
Independent jury and fixed criteria
With its independent specialist jury, the dvi relies on the expertise and competence of around two dozen experts from business, research, education and the media. The jury members review all entries in person during a two-day meeting. The assessment is based on fixed, category-specific criteria, which the dvi lists transparently on the German Packaging Award website.
Gold Award and award ceremony
The winning innovations will be announced in August and publicly honoured at an awards ceremony. From among the winners, the jury can also honour particularly pioneering solutions with a Gold Award.
