At ProSweets 2024 in Cologne, Theegarten-Pactec will be showcasing its latest packaging solutions for the confectionery and snack industry, including the FPH5 flow-wrapping machine, which packs coated chewing gum in the high-speed range at a speed of 4,000 products/min.
From 28 to 31 January 2024, the ProSweets the most important industry event for the confectionery and snack industry takes place in Cologne. Theegarten-Pactec, manufacturer of packaging machines for small-piece confectionery, uses this platform to offer its customised Solutions for the confectionery and snack industry to present. At a joint stand with its partner company Makrev, the company will be presenting the Flow-wrapping machine FPH5.
The machine enables the Packaging of 4,000 products/minute through an innovative product separation process: For this purpose, a combination of Large feed disc and separately driven inner disc is used, which allows a high filling level. A direct mechanical connection between the disc and the machine's infeed chain ensures a seamless transfer of the products from the disc to the infeed chain, which contributes to a reliable and fast packaging process.
Versatile packaging process and material
Another advantage of the FPH5 is its high level of flexibility. Depending on customer requirements, it can be used to Division of 2, 3 or 4 products per pack possible. In addition, the changeover between the individual pack sizes can be realised particularly quickly. This is made possible by the simple interchangeability of the infeed chain, which is responsible for product grouping. At ProSweets, Theegarten-Pactec will be demonstrating the process with 2-piece packs. The cross-sealing unit of the FPH5 is just as flexible. It does not need to be changed when the pack size is switched, as it is driven by a separate servo motor and the Speed of the transverse sealing device stored in the recipe management is.

The FPH5 is just as flexible in processing the material as it is in the packaging process. Thanks to a patented preheating section, it is able to process even the most demanding materials, recyclable monofilms can be processed just as efficiently as conventional laminates or paper-based packaging materials - at the same high packaging speed. Thanks to its versatility and efficiency, the FPH5 can also be used to pack numerous other products in addition to classic hard candies: These include particularly soft and therefore sensitive jelly products, chocolate-coated confectionery and lollipops.
Flexible solution for lower production volumes
At the stand, Theegarten-Pactec will also be presenting solutions for customers with lower production volumes for which high-performance machines such as the FPH5 are not ideally suited. For example, the MR7800 Multistyle from partner Makrev, which will be on show at the stand, packs Chocolate products at a speed of up to 400 products/minute. It is therefore particularly suitable for customers who require solutions in the medium output range. The MR7800 scores points above all with its high level of flexibility: it can handle numerous packaging types such as Side twist, top twist, double twist, bunch and letter fold. In addition, quick format changes and packaging type changes can be realised on the machine in just 30 minutes, which reduces set-up times and effectively saves costs.
Theegarten-Pactec had been acquired shares in the Turkish company Makrev Packaging. Based in Istanbul, the company manufactures intermittent motion chocolate, hard sugar and jelly packaging machines as well as complete automation and feeding systems in the medium capacity range, thus ideally complementing Theegarten-Pactec's product portfolio.
As in 2022, interested parties can once again find out about the Sweet Connect digitalisation platform in a specially created area at the trade fair stand in 2024. Theegarten-Pactec organised this together with with the partners Sollich, Chocotech and Winkler + Dünnebier was founded. The platform, which was specially developed for the confectionery industry, pools the partners' resources and offers their customers the opportunity, digitally map the entire production process to be able to.
