Gütersloh-based Topac GmbH is cooperating with the Italian speciality machine manufacturer Mondini. Together, the two companies want to develop sustainable packaging solutions for the food industry.
Topac is part of the Bertelsmann Printing Group and specialises in print products and Cardboard packaging. The company has extensive experience in the production of Special packaging for the media sector and for consumer products. This expertise is now to be used for the development of Food packaging The aim is to reduce their plastic content by up to 70 per cent.
„Our aim is to transfer the printing and innovation expertise that Topac has built up in the media and cosmetics industry to the food industry and to demonstrate this in the production of sustainable packaging solutions for food in the future,“ says Topac Managing Director Sven Deutschmann the new business approach. As a competent technology partner for the project, the company is relying on Mondini S.p.A. from Cologne, Italy.
Innovative packaging machines for the food industry
Mondini is distributed in Germany and Austria exclusively by Ribbeck GmbH & Co. KG from Bad Bramstedt and, according to Topac, is the world's leading supplier of innovative and highly efficient packaging machines for the food processing industry.
Preparations are currently underway in Topac's production halls in Gütersloh for the manufacture of Primary food packaging. Following certification in accordance with FSSC 22000 at the end of March, production of specific packaging products will start soon.
