Product traceability plays an important role in the food sector. FF Frischfleisch AG was looking for a solution for the 100 per cent traceability of its products. 

In the food sector, the traceability of products plays an important role when it comes to complaints. This also applies to meat and sausage products. FF Frischfleisch AG was therefore looking for a solution for 100 per cent traceability of its products. 

Complete documentation of production in the system is necessary for effective tracking. X-ray equipment, which store every product image (with and without contamination) centrally, can fulfil this requirement and thus guarantee a Continuous traceability of meat and sausage products in the event of any complaints.

Sesotec In co-operation with the Kundert company, a solution for FF Fresh meat develop. To examine the packaged products in the end-of-line inspection, Raycon Ex1 Foreign object detection systems with integrated pusher and Insight.Net software delivered. Large amounts of data had to be processed in order to save each product image. For this reason, the company worked with Videojet, which integrated the printers into the line after the X-ray machines.

The printers provide the Packs with line number, date and time. The challenge here was for the X-ray machine to generate this number, store the product image underneath it and pass the information on to the Videojet printer so that it could print the product image. identical number on the packaging prints. The images are automatically deleted or overwritten by new images after a certain time, depending on the best-before date.

Display

The requirements for the detection accuracy of FE and V2A with 0.8 mm and glass with 2.0 mm were met. The hygienic design rounded off the advantages of the X-ray machines „Made in Germany“. For 2022/2023, the Sempione AG the purchase of a further five Raycon Ex1 X-ray scanners. There is also talk of possibly replacing old devices from other manufacturers with new ones.
